Our Programmes
And Services
Nobody Left Behind offers a variety of intervention programmes that use the power of sport to engage people and support them through education into employment.
Our work is focused on young people and adults, care leavers and ex-offenders who often face multiple layers of disadvantage and feel left behind by society. Typically living in some of the UK’s most deprived communities they can face extra barriers to education, training, and employment and may be at risk of harm and exploitation through violence, drugs, and crime.
Pathways
Funded by Project Medusa, our seven-week Pathways intervention programme uses sport and education to create clear routes into employment.
Read More +During the first four weeks, participants engage in a variety of sports camps and activities, including boxing, cycling, hiking, football, rugby, yoga, mindfulness, and cold-water bathing. These activities serve as a way for our coaches to connect with participants and provide tailored individual support to help them reach their potential.
Mentoring, alongside physical and mental health and wellbeing, is central to all our programmes. As participants progress together as a group, the final three weeks focus on education, giving them the theory and hands-on experience needed to transition into employment.
As a fully accredited learning provider, we deliver training in our two Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) approved education centres, specialising in civil engineering and construction careers. Our programme combines theoretical learning with practical experience, supported by local industry employers. Every participant completes the course with recognised qualifications, including a CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) and others like Asbestos Awareness, Passive Fire Protection, Customer Service, CAT and Genny for detecting underground cabling, First Aid, Telecoms, and Risk Assessment.
At the end of the programme, participants are also provided with any essential personal protective equipment (PPE) required for their career path, such as steel-toed boots and hard hats.
Through our close partnerships with regional industry employers, including tier one and two construction companies, we continually adapt our qualification offerings to meet employers’ needs. Employers also contribute to careers talks and provide valuable work experience opportunities as part of the programme.
Close -Skills Bootcamp
We support Liverpool City Region Combined Authority in the delivery of their Skills Bootcamp programme supporting people to find jobs in a range of sectors across the region to help employers close skills gaps.
Read More +We launched the first 3.5-week education programme in March of this year which saw 16 young people gain Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Fenestration Installation (the installation of glass supporting systems including windows and doors) as well as their CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) needed to work on construction sites.
Close -Schools
Thanks to funding from Merseyside Police’s Project Medusa initiative, each week we visit schools identified in crime hotspots within the city region.
Read More +We carry out intervention work with groups of young people, typically teenagers, within schools identified by Merseyside Police. They include sessions on topics including the dangers of gun and knife crime and the reality of prison life all delivered by ex-offenders and local people close to the realities these young people face.
Since 2019, Project Medusa has been nationally recognised as a leading force in tackling County Lines drug dealing and the exploitation of young people and vulnerable adults.
Close -Ex-offenders
This programme replicates our Pathways intervention programme for adults aged 19+ who have recently left prison and/or are under the supervision of one of the region’s six probation units.
Read More +Participants come from a variety of offending backgrounds excluding serious offences such as sex offences, terrorism, or arson.
Close -Services
As well as our intervention programmes we also offer specific support services. Through our programmes we often work with people experiencing or at risk of homelessness and those for whom housing was and is a barrier to employment.
Read More +Our ethos is that nobody is left behind, so we created a new arm offering accommodation within Liverpool City Region commissioned by public bodies such as local and central government and operated and managed by a dedicated team.
Working in partnership with other agencies and organisations, we support;
